About Victoria Dale... dancer, choreographer and educator.....
Dale danced professionally with the D.C. Black Repertory Dance Company and the George Faison Universal Dance Experience before performing the role of "Sophisticated Lady" in the national touring company of the Broadway musical Bubbling Brown Sugar. Her movie credits include The Blues Brothers, One From the Heart, Baron Wolfgang Von Tripps, and "The Green Lady" in The Wiz. She has performed in Jubilee at Bally's and Cotton Club at the Dunes in Las Vegas as well as having modeled there and in Los Angeles and Palm Springs. |
Dale holds an M.ED. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she is presently an Associate Professor at the Department of Dance. She has been a master teacher for the 10th Annual Black Dance Exchange, the Boston Dance Theaters' Club and was the first to teach master jazz classes at the Yunan Art Institute in Kunming, China. Additional teaching credits include the California Ballet Company, George Washington University, Simba and the Academy of Nevada Ballet Theater. Dale has choreographed for Windows International Dance Company previously based in Hong Kong, as well as two Las Vegas companies, Opus and The Vibe. She was invited by Gus Giordano to adjudicate the Jazz Dance Competition for the '95 World Jazz Dance Congress in Nagoya, Japan, the '96 Congress at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC as well as the '97 Congress in Phoenix, Arizona. Dale was the first jazz dance guest artist to teach a two week intensive at the University of Novosobirsk, Russia. |
She was named the 1993 Teacher of the Year by UNLV's College of Fine and Performing Arts and was awarded a university research grant for her continuing study in the area of African-American dance. Other awards include the 2000 Rose Award for Academic Achievement and the 2000 CSUN Faculty Excellence Award from the UNLV student government. |
